There is no doubt - Sakanya, the Search Is On was easily the best Christmas production that NLC has ever seen! And what a treat it was! Sakanya was big in many ways - first of all, the entire Church was involved, with KidzHouse and Ignite as well as Club 8:12 and Citylights and finally Mandate and Ladies First playing different roles through the two-hour production. A slightly modernized version of the story of the three wise men (and otherwise men)who sought after Christ, the Sakanya script was funny and incisive at the same time, keeping the audience not only captivated but highly entertained. Excellent acting by the different actors and actresses (all amateurs, by the way!) made sure the play was quite enjoyable, and the super lighting and scene deco would have fooled you into thinking you were actually in Bethlehem! Apart from the acting, the script also included several dances, with one of the most moving being Mary Did You Know, nailed by the angel-dressed children and facilitators from KidzHouse and Ignite. Barlow Girl's rendition of O Holy Night, this one presented by Citylights and Club 8:12 was one of the most memorable dances ever presented on the NLC Christmas stage, and the presentation was capped by the Rebekah Dawn's Sakanya, a three-part song made especially for this occassion.Citylights and Club 8:12 did an awesome job on delivering that one. Sakanya ran on Friday evening and both Sunday services with the auditorium packed, and above everything else, as Evangelist Magangi wrapped up with an altar call, several gave their lives to Christ. That, is what the search was all about! Sakanya was written and produced for NLC by Pastor Paul & Rita Nzimbi.
