Let's Buy The Building

After 22 years of standing in faith and expectation…We, Nairobi Lighthouse Church, have finally received a wonderful opportunity to buy our own building!  God is faithful!

This building comprises 4 huge Go-downs and 2 office blocks, on Lusaka road, right across the railway from the City Stadium where our church met for 13 years. 

The total amount we aim to raise is KES120 million.

Our Strategy For Purchase

Sh. 120 million is all we need by June 2010 to buy the building. We're not just sitting pretty - we have a 6-part strategy, and this is what it looks like:  

1.    KSH 100/- MINIMUM PER WEEK PER MEMBER – every member is to bring this offering each Sunday toward the building
All the Israelite men and women who were willing brought to the LORD freewill offerings for all the work the LORD through Moses had commanded them to do - Exodus 35:29 (NIV)

2.    FUNDRAISING CARDS  - available to NLC members for collecting funds
"Speak now in the hearing of the people, and let every man ask from his neighbor and every woman
from her neighbor, articles of silver and articles of gold. And the LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. - Ex 11:3 (NKJV)

3.    CELL GIFT – Use a creative project to raise the money or agree together on what each will contribute
Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified," says the LORD. - Hag 1:8 (NKJV)

4.    FRIENDS OF LIGHTHOUSE  - Contributions from CHURCHES, MINISTRIES and friends of NLC

5.    FRIENDS & MEMBERS IN THE DIASPORA – Can give through NLC or using the information on the INTERNET

6.    MY PERSONAL CONTRIBUTION

Down Memory Lane

It's been a long journey getting to this point - a 22-year-long wait to have our own building to purchase! Here's a (not so complete) trip down memory lane:

	Then there were the days at the KICC..Wondering about the dates? Notice the bell-bottom trousers, that should give you an idea!
	For 13 years, NLC met at the City Stadium...one with the fresh air and all the elements! As for space, the stadium  had lots; many of us remember the many Sundays of running around the track, just for the fun of it. Interestingly, our building is just a stone's throw away from the stadium...
	Safari Park Hotel on Thika Road is where we ended up after the City Stadium. Far from the open air, here there were chandeliers and plush carpets and soft chairs...but it still wasn't home!
