Prayer Guide – Friday 27th January

The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and the One who rescues me; My God, my rock and strength in whom I trust and take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower—my stronghold.
Psalms 18:2 (AMP)

  1. Purpose to come down to the place of safety and strength as you humble yourself. Repent of any pride of might or power and self ability, emptying yourself before the Lord.
  2. As you are in that place of brokenness and intimacy with God in “the cave of Adullam,” allow the Lord to work deeply in your heart. Let him form, fashion and transform you, in your character and integrity.

The Cave Of Adullum was one of the most frustrating times in David’s life, but in hindsight, it proved to be the most precious.

(Prayerfully Read and meditate on Psalms 34)

Prayer Guide – Thursday 26th January

When my spirit was overwhelmed and weak within me [wrapped in darkness], You knew my path. In the way where I walk They have hidden a trap for me.
Psalms 142:3 (AMP)

  1. In the midst of the crisis, ask the Holy Spirit to help you not just see the danger, but to also see the opportunities before you for breakthrough.
  2. Like David, cry out to the Lord in prayer using the words of Psalms 142:5-7 (AMP):
I cried out to You, O Lord; I said, “You are my refuge, My portion in the land of the living. Give attention to my cry, For I am brought very low; Rescue me from my persecutors, For they are stronger than I. Bring my soul out of prison (adversity), So that I may give thanks and praise Your name; The righteous will surround me [in triumph], For You will look after me.”

Breakthrough happened around me when breakup happened within me. (Jack Hayford)

Prayer Guide – Wednesday, 25th January

David did just as the Lord had commanded him, and struck down the Philistines from Geba as far as Gezer.
2 Samuel 5:25 (AMP)

  1. Ask the Lord in prayer to continually give you the grace to keep going through the process to your breakthrough.
  2. And in going through the process, pray that the Lord will grant you sensitivity to the dealings of the Holy Spirit as He guides and directs you.

There are no drive-thru breakthroughs, breakthroughs take time.
(Joyce Meyer)

Prayer Guide – Tuesday, 24th January

So David came to Baal-perazim, and he defeated them there, and said, “The Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” So he named that place Baal-perazim (Master of Breakthroughs).
2 Samuel 5:20 (AMP)

  1. Believe God in 2023 to grow in understanding, clarity and overcome barriers as you rise to new levels.
  2. As you pray, trust the Lord to give you an offensive thrust that breaks through the defensive lines of the enemy.

Breakthroughs occur when we go on the offensive.

Prayer Guide – Monday, 23rd January

David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You hand them over to me?” And the Lord said to David, “Go up, for I will certainly hand them over to you.”
2 Samuel 5:19 (AMP)

  1. “Go up.” What specific direction has God given you? Thank Him for His faithful promises, purposing to go up in faith, standing on His reliable Word.
  2. Do not be moved by what you see in the natural, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood! Ask the Lord to help you stay focused on Him and His word, not allowing yourself to get distracted or sidetracked.

The closer you are to your destiny, the greater the opposition.
