Prayer & Fasting This Week

Our corporate week of prayer and fasting begins on Monday the 27th of September, and will go through Friday the 1st of October. We’ll post each day’s prayer guide on this page and on all our social media platforms. Let’s stay connected as we seek the Lord together!

Friday Prayer Guide

A tree is identified by its fruit. Figs are never gathered from thornbushes, and grapes are not picked from bramble bushes. Luke 6:44 NLT

  1. As a member of NLC, pray that you would identify with the vision of Winning Souls and Making Disciples. Pray that your life would be centered around God’s dream of the earth being filled with His sons and daughters.
  2. Thank the Lord for placing you within an environment conducive for you to bear much fruit. Pray that He would use you to “grow great men and women” thus fulfilling Christ’s expectation.

Your greatest contribution in life may not be what you do, but in who you raise up.

Thursday Prayer Guide

“The Lord our God spoke to us at Horeb: ‘You have stayed at this mountain long enough. See, I have set the land before you. Enter and take possession of the land.
Deuteronomy 1:6‭, ‬8a HCSB

  1. Pray for a rekindled passion to go in and take the land. Ask the Lord to renew within your heart a passion for Cell Life so that you may fulfill your purpose within your cell group.

This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. John 15:8 NIV

  1. Pray that as a disciple of Jesus Christ you will bring the Father glory by bearing much fruit and that your fruit will remain.

What was in the heart of Christ is that we bear much fruit.

Wednesday Prayer Guide

Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with a joyful and humble attitude, praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved. Acts 2:46‭-‬47 HCSB

  1. Thank the Lord for the understanding He has given us in NLC modeled from the early Church, the Two-Winged Church. Thank Him for the Sunday Temple Celebration services and the House To House cell group meetings.
  2. In the New Testament, the word ‘fruit’ appears 58 times, of which Jesus used the word 35 times. This reveals that our being fruitful was a preeminent desire in His heart, for whatever is in your heart determines what you say. (Luke 6:45b)
Pray that you will desire the same—to be a fruitful believer, fully committed to HIS cause, ready to be used for His glory.

The early Church was built upon a community of believers who met in large temple gatherings and from house to house.

Tuesday Prayer Guide

“I am the Real Vine and my Father is the Farmer. He cuts off every branch of me that doesn’t bear grapes. And every branch that is grape-bearing He prunes back so it will bear even more. Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me. “I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing.”
John‬ ‭15:1-2,4-5 MSG‬‬

  1. Pray that as you are being renewed for more, you would be counted on as one of the laborers urgently seeking to be used in the great harvest before us.
  2. Seek to stay vitally connected to Jesus, His word and love, staying open to the dealings of the Lord in prayer, inviting Him to remove any unproductive areas in your life so you can bear more for His glory.

As disciples of Christ, more is expected from us.

Monday Prayer Guide

PREPARING FOR DIVINE RENEWAL

Renew: something which was already established but which subsequently had deteriorated and needed to be restored to it’s original position of influence and strength.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me. Psalms 51:10 AMPC

  1. Ask God to create in you a clean heart, renewing a right, persevering and steadfast spirit within you. Determine to seek Him with all your heart.

Don’t be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to Him. Romans 12:2 CEV

  1. Pray that God will change the way you think by renewing your mind as you read His word daily during this season of prayer & fasting and then, you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to Him.

You have said, Seek My face [inquire for and require My presence as your vital need]. My heart says to You, Your face (Your presence), Lord, will I seek, inquire for, and require [of necessity and on the authority of Your Word]. Psalms 27:8 AMPC
